(WJW) – A high-profile doctor gave free Botox to patients in exchange for sex, a medical tribunal has said.
According to the Medical Practitioners Tribunal, UK-based Dr Oluwafemi “Tizion” Esho provided medical care/treatment to Patient A from June 2019 to May 2022.
The court found that Esho had an “inappropriate emotional relationship with Patient A and acted inappropriately toward her, and that Dr. Esho's actions were sexually motivated.”
According to PEOPLE, the 42-year-old admitted to exchanging “inappropriate” sexual messages with Patient A on Instagram, but denied having any physical contact with her.
Esho, who appeared on ITV's “This Morning,” BBC's “Morning Live” and E4's “Body Fixers” on April 9, had sex with Patient A at a clinic in Newcastle, England in August 2021. Shortly afterward, a court ruled that Botox had been administered free of charge. According to people.
After the April 9 MPTS ruling, Esho and his clinic released a joint statement on Instagram on April 10, saying: Although I have cooperated fully throughout the hearing and investigation, I have emphasized that I deeply regret the mistakes I made in communicating with Patient A and have admitted to the charges related to those serious errors in judgment. ”
Mr Esho said on Instagram that he disagreed with the MPTS' decision to proceed with another hearing.
“I am truly sorry for my actions and apologize to everyone I disappointed as a result,” Esho said on Instagram. “However, I categorically reiterate that while it has always been clear that my actions in communicating with Patient A were wrong, that did not extend to any physical sexual contact. While I respect MPTS and its process, I disagree with its decision.”
A new hearing for Esho will be held from April 23 to April 27 to “determine whether Esho's fitness to practice is currently impaired due to his misconduct,” MPTS said.
“My life's work has been, and will continue to be, focused on helping people. I remain committed to this cause,” Esho said. “I am deeply grateful to my patients and friends who have supported me through this incredibly difficult time.”
