Brian Krugman, the actor and director known for his roles in “Bones'' and the 2012 film “The Words,'' has published his first book supporting mental health awareness. Krugman, who became a parent last year, collaborated with an organization called Mind Up for Life to write a powerful children's book, “You Are You.'' Her poetic poems have become an instruction manual for children around the world on how to love themselves. Mr. Krugman will donate 100% of the proceeds from this book to his MindUP program. This program is a training program designed to help parents, youth, and educators overcome emotional barriers and thrive in school and beyond.
In “You Are You,” Krugman uses rhythmic poetry to spread the message of the importance of loving who you are uniquely to children around the world. “As a new father myself and having struggled with my own challenges as a child, I wanted to write something that would resonate with all children, regardless of their background,” Krugman said in a statement. “It was also very important to me to find the right organization to which I could donate the proceeds, so that we can reach more children and together we can bring this self-love guide to the forefront.”
