Caitlin Clark has garnered quite the famous fan following, but that's to be expected as she's the face of college basketball.
At games and on social media, celebrities from Jason Sudeikis to Patrick Mahomes have been showing their love for the Iowa women's basketball star as Clark and the Hawkeyes return to the Final Four with a shot at an NCAA Tournament victory in 2024.
Jason Sudeikis
Sudeikis, a former star of “Ted Lasso” and “Saturday Night Live,” has attended an Iowa women's basketball game not once but twice during the 2023-2024 college basketball season. Sudeikis was in attendance during the Hawkeyes' win against Bowling Green at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in December.
Sudeikis returned to watch Clark and the Hawkeyes beat Angel Reese and LSU.
Clearly the actor is a fan, demonstrating the “can't you see me” gesture that Clark made famous while watching the Elite Eight game.
Maya Moore
Former University of Connecticut and WNBA forward Maya Moore surprised Clark, a longtime fan, before the regular-season finale in Iowa City in March. The University of Iowa point guard even let out a little squeal of excitement when she saw Moore approaching.
Jake from State Farm
The man, who wore red and khaki pants, changed his costume to black and gold. Actor Kevin Miles, who plays the titular State Farm character, was also spotted at the team's regular-season finale at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City in March.
Billie Jean King
Tennis legend Billie Jean King was at the NCAA women's basketball championship last year, when Louisiana State beat Iowa, but the greats honor the greats, and King called Clark “indomitable” after he broke the scoring record earlier this year.
Sue Bird
Bird, a WNBA great and Olympic gold medalist, also attended the same game that Sudeikis did in December. Bird interviewed Clark for an episode of ESPN+'s “Sue's Place.”
Travis Scott
The “Astroworld” rapper headed to Iowa City to watch the Hawkeyes' regular season finale.
Dave Portnoy
Barstool Sports creator Dave Portnoy took to X (formerly Twitter) on April 1 to capture moments from the NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight game between Iowa and Louisiana State, and shared plenty of love for Clark. “Kaitlyn Clark is the greatest women's college basketball player of all time,” Portnoy wrote, describing Clark getting “revenge” for last year's loss.
Which other celebrities have their eye on Caitlin Clark?
In addition to those attending the games, Clark has also received strong support from Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who said in February that Clark will “dominate” in the WNBA. Los Angeles Lakers guard LeBron James shared a photo of Clark on his Instagram Story, commenting in 2022, “She's so good at the game!”
When Clark broke the NCAA Division I basketball scoring record earlier this year, football stars Tom Brady, Eli Manning and Peyton Manning, along with Iowa native and actor Ashton Kutcher, congratulated him in a Big Ten Network YouTube video.
