Hello Bryce! If two generations create an acting family, would three generations create an acting dynasty? [Her father is director Ron Howard, both of whose parents were actors.] john hunt
I think a dynasty has more than five generations, so it's not that close. There is a path forward. We have three generations, so when the Howard family crosses that line, I'll probably embrace it.
When overseeing part of a larger collection, like the mandalorianhow do you find the balance between maintaining tone and creating something that reflects your artistic vision? Porco Spino
Something like The Mandalorian is a very important story and a piece of intellectual property. Understanding the essence of the creator and what inspired them to create the work in the first place is essential to dramaturgy, so everything I build is an extension of their original vision. When it comes to Star Wars, it's George Lucas, but I feel that way about any subject. When accepting the baton, it is very important to have a deep, sensitive, considerate and objective perspective.
How was it when you made it? argyle Is there such a gorgeous cast?Have you ever earned a star?hit? Turangalila 2
This is a totally bananas movie and that was the whirlwind experience of making this movie with this amazing cast and Versace gowns and working with Sam Rockwell, Sam. [Samuel L] Jackson and Dua Lipa. I become a star so easily and it's embarrassing. They may blush, stutter, or say strange things. I get too excited. I act like a fangirl and it takes me a while to calm down. One thing you can't trust around celebrities is the takeaway.
How did you learn to cry on Conan's commands on his talk show? Mr. Chebet
I taught myself. I heard that there is an acting technique based on the physiology of the human body that uses specific physiological stimuli as triggers to cause people to laugh, blush, yawn, or cry. Since I was 14 years old, I read the death scene from Romeo and Juliet every night before bed. My eyes get wet when I yawn, so I used to yawn a lot. I yawned while saying the text, but now I can yawn without a yawn response and just speak to stimulate the soft palate, which stimulates the tear ducts and causes tears. Ta. That's what I'm doing now. Although I am yawning internally, I have learned how to talk while yawning to stimulate my soft palate and tear ducts. look. A small tear is flowing now.
your performance in black mirror It was the best thing I've ever seen actors acting into their smartphones! little isok
thank you. That episode was personally so horrifying to me because I had just joined social media two weeks before her. I was a latecomer, so when I shot this in 2016, I was thinking, “What have I done with my life?” Then I read the script and thought, “Oh, this is going to be very therapeutic.”
Her role as Elton John's mother was also impressive. rocketman sheila. How did you control your accent? hoople head 1967
Sheila is from Pinner, so I had a great dialect coach to help me. [in north-west London] But she's trying to make herself seem very classy, so it's probably a classier dialect than is often seen on pinners. I'm glad I'm not banned from entering the UK! Do you think it's easier for a British actor to play an American accent than the other way around? Perhaps it's because British actors are incredibly well-trained, and I'm trying to make a terrible generalization here. This is probably due to the fact that it has received so much exposure in the American media.
Do you have a favorite British slang term? We know you have to be careful when asking for a fanny pack. It's a buzz bag. And bangs and fringe. I’ve always had bangs and said, “I’ve always had bangs. wait a minute. I mean, fringe…”
Do you think your acting has improved because of your work as a director? Has your acting experience made you a better director? Or is it done in parallel? B master
I learn a lot every time I work as a director or an actor. My father says one of the things he misses most about being an actor is being able to see other directors' work. Because everyone does things a little differently. That's also what I love most about acting. In my work as a director, I love working with really talented actors and finding ways to make them feel special empowered to do their best work. Both scenarios are fun and enlightening as they relate to other roles.
Would you be interested in performing on Broadway again? Jade Sasser
yes. It's certainly something I think about now that the kids are older.
If you had to replace Dallas in your name with another city, which would you choose? Ellis 1997
There are some good ones too. My niece's name is Aspen, and that's a good thing. I grew up in Connecticut, where there's a place called Mystic, so Mystic Connecticut might be fun. Or Bryce Hollywood Howard!
What was Tom Cruise like as a babysitter? top playing cards
He wasn't my babysitter.he was just in a movie [1992’s Far and Away] My father directed it. My brother and I were very young at the time, and he was a really fun big kid, entertaining us with backflips and feeding us whatever we requested. He was always really cool.
Are high heels really the best shoes to wear when running away from the T? Rex [in Jurassic World]? man 1981
Actually, I had the option of taking off my shoes. In this scene, I roll up my sleeves, so I could have taken off my high heels, but just being in the jungle terrain, I thought, “Heels would probably work better.''
Have you experienced gingerism in your work or personal life? top playing cards
I heard that word for the first time! Apparently we are becoming extinct and I contributed to it. Neither of my children are redheads. I went to the Louvre on my birthday weekend in March and walked around and almost every painting was of a redhead. So we have ruled long enough!
