When is Celebrity Race Across The World released?
It was postponed due to the Moroccan earthquake on September 8th, Celebrity Round the World Race Confirmed Wednesday, September 20th.
More than 2,500 people are reported to have died in the earthquake, and the BBC has confirmed that it will postpone the broadcast of the first episode of the series, as the series was filmed in Morocco.
“The BBC responds to the Moroccan earthquake Celebrity Round the World Race It will be postponed,” they wrote on Twitter.
“Of course, our journey began in Marrakech. Marrakech is a beautiful city and we received such warmth from everyone while filming. Our hearts are with the people of Marrakech and we think of them.”
The first episode was originally scheduled to air on September 13th.

Two weeks before the spinoff hits theaters on August 31, 2023, the BBC released a trailer in which we join the all-stars and their families in Marrakech, Morocco, to watch as their challenge begins.
What celebrities will be participating?

The new series stars McFly's Harry Judd and his mother Emma, presenter Alex Beresford and his father Noel, All Saints' Mel Bratt and his mother Helen, and finally British racing driver and commentator Billy Monger and his sister Bonnie.
Where are celebrities traveling?
In this spin-off series, the celebrities will begin their journey in Marrakech and make their way across Europe before reaching their final destination in Tromso, Norway, known as the Arctic capital.
Their journey is said to have covered more than 10,000 km in 24 countries, visiting Mediterranean ports, the Alps, the Baltic States and Scandinavia.
What is Race Across The World?
Race across the world It's a BBC competition series in which five or six pairs of ordinary Brits – family, friends or partners – compete to be the first to reach a particular part of the world. In past years it has taken place in South America, Europe and Canada.
They have a series of checkpoints to reach and once they reach the final checkpoint the winning pair will receive £20,000.
But they can't use cell phones or travel by plane. Instead, they are given a world map at the start of their journey, a GPS tracker to track their movements, a travel guide with local job ads, and a money belt with cash, which they can then use to travel by sea or land to each checkpoint.
Is the celebrity version any different?
Announcing the new series, BBC editor-in-chief Michael Jochnowicz said it would follow a similar format to the first series, with celebrities travelling to multiple countries, but the standard third series would see contestants travel across Canada.
“It will probably be a more traditional race given the number of countries that will be passing through. That will be announced later this year,” Jochnowicz said.
And, as is common with celebrity competition series, it is thought the celebrities will be competing for a £20,000 prize for their chosen charity.
It has now been confirmed that the series will only see four pairs competing instead of the usual five, and that the series will have six episodes instead of the usual 10.
