Rylan Clark received a heartfelt plea from fans after sharing a heartbreaking update about himself and his mother, leaving many feeling quite down. The BBC Radio 2 personality and his beloved mother Linda sparked delight amongst their followers last month when they announced their return to Celebrity Gogglebox.
The dynamic duo have not appeared on the celebrity version of the Channel 4 show for some time, having first appeared on the show in 2019. Rylan and Linda stepped back from their roles on the show last year after suffering a bad fall whilst on holiday for the first time in 10 years, among other health concerns.
In early June, Rylan excitedly posted a picture of the pair lounging on a plush dark green sofa in their Essex home on Instagram, captioning the post: “We're back. Friday @c4gogglebox,” which sparked delighted comments.

But on Friday (12 July), the beloved TV and radio presenter broke the news that Celebrity Gogglebox will be coming to an end with its current run. Alongside a picture of himself, Linda and the TV crew who worked on the series, Rylan thanked them: “Tonight is the last night of Gogglebox. Thank you team.”
Fans were quick to express their disappointment, with @by.glorya exclaiming: “Oh my gosh you guys are my favourites!!!! I'm just going to have to keep watching on repeat from now on. Love you mum Linda and of course Rylan too,” reports the Manchester Evening News.
@honeyflawless26 shared: “We will miss you both. Love you so much @rylan.”
Meanwhile, @angelahughes48 lamented, “Oh Captain will miss you both so much. Your mum is an amazing, lovely woman.”
TV viewers have called for the pair to get their own show to fill the void left by their departure, with Twitter user @salcake responding, “Oh that's so sad because I think you and your mom are super funny. We definitely need a show just for you two.”
Meanwhile, @be_beautiful_london suggested: “Why don't you and your mum have your own talk show? That would be great TV.”
@Lester Sue 1 He added: “Rylan, I love your mom. I wish you two could do a show together.”
The calls for a new project come after Rylan recently confessed to being “secretly single” despite having found “someone in my life who truly loves me.” The 35-year-old's relationship status has frequently been in the spotlight since the breakdown of his previous marriage.
Rylan split from his ex-spouse Dan Neil in 2021. The two met on the platform Big Brother's Bit on the Side, where Rylan was a presenter, in 2015 and decided to get engaged the following year.
Rylan and Dan, a former Metropolitan police detective, married in 2016 and have chosen to keep their relationship out of the public eye.
News of the breakdown of Rylan's marriage broke during a four-month sabbatical during which he was absent from public view, and only afterwards did he reveal details about his personal setbacks. Rumors of him suddenly leaving the show swirled before the break-up rumors circulated, but Rylan publicly acknowledged the split.
After dealing with serious mental health issues during this period, Rylan has emerged stronger than ever, and now rumours surface from time to time as to whether he has found new love.
But things seem to be different now. On Thursday night (July 11), the TV and radio star opened up about her bedtime routine on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter: “My secret habit as a single person is to scroll through Tik Tok Live before going to bed. Tonight I saw someone making salmon, a woman selling clothes, a man and a woman selling fabric softener, a dog running around the room, and someone sleeping. That app is special.”
